NOA Canada - Animal Welfare Society

Bound by the Shackles of Selfishness

Dear Friends and Animal Lovers,

I would like to tell you about a heartbreaking abuse of two bear cubs in Bosnia & Herzegovina and to ask for your input and assistance to change their current situation.

These two cubs have been living on a two meter chain ever since they were three months old. They were found and "adopted" by their current "owner" who keeps them as an attraction to the visitors of his fish restaurant in Gornji Vakuf, Bosnia. The chain around their necks is not being adjusted and is getting tighter as they grow.  The chain is literally growing into their necks. They are running out of time, and if we don't help them, they will eventually choke to death.Bosnia currently doesn't have a bear sanctuary where they can be placed and if let into the wild, they wouldn't be able to survive.

Please send us your ideas and input and help us spread the word. We need to put pressure on the owner and the local government to enforce the animal welfare law and free the bears as soon as possible.

You can write to the mayor of Gornji Vakuf, Mr. Sead Causevic at nacelnik@gornjivakuf-uskoplje.ba

Sincerely,

NOA Canada
